Parlay odds multiply. A 3-leg parlay at -110, +150, -120 has combined decimal odds of 1.909 × 2.500 × 1.833 = 8.75. Implied probability drops as legs increase.

How Parlay Bets Work

A parlay combines multiple bets into one. All legs must win for the parlay to pay out. The odds multiply together, creating higher potential payouts but lower probability of winning.

To calculate: convert each leg to decimal odds, multiply them all together, then multiply by your stake. The implied probability of all legs winning equals the product of each leg's individual probability.

A parlay multiplies the odds of multiple independent bets. For decimal odds, parlay payout = product of all decimal odds × stake. American odds (+150, −110) must be converted to decimal first: +150 → 2.50; −110 → (100/110) + 1 = 1.909. A 3-leg parlay at +150, −110, +200: 2.50 × 1.909 × 3.00 = 14.32 decimal. $100 stake returns $1,432 ($1,332 profit) if all three legs win.

Parlay break-even win rate: each additional leg reduces the implied probability. For a 2-leg parlay at −110 each leg (implied probability 52.4% each): combined probability = 0.524 × 0.524 = 27.5%. The sportsbook's parlay payout should exceed 1/0.275 = 3.64× to be fair. Parlays almost always pay less than true probability — the house edge compounds with each leg added.

Same-game parlays (SGPs): sportsbooks correlate outcomes within a single game and often reduce the payout accordingly. A traditional parlay assumes independence between legs; within a game, a high-scoring outcome correlates with certain player prop totals. Books partially neutralize these correlations through reduced odds on SGPs.
